TULSA, Okla. (AP) – A 14-year-old Oklahoma boy is recovering from serious injuries after police say he jumped off of a nearly 40-foot bridge to avoid officers after a carjacking.

Tulsa Police say officers pulled over a stolen car on Saturday night. They say the teen was in the front seat and fled on foot before the leap.

He suffered several broken bones and other serious injuries. He was taken to an area hospital and an update on his condition wasn’t immediately available on Sunday.

The driver of the car and another passenger were arrested. No charges have been reported.

The identities of the people involved haven’t been released.
