ALTUS, Okla. (AP) – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the bodies of two drowning victims have been recovered from a river that runs from Lake Altus-Lugert.

The second body was recovered Saturday after the first body was found Friday in the North Fork of the Red River.

The OHP told reporters that 25-year-old Stewart Sullins of Granite and 47-year-old Johnny Robertson of Granite drowned Friday afternoon after going into the water at the Lugert-Altus Dam.

Troopers say witnesses reported that Robertson was seen struggling in the water and that it appeared Sullins tried to save him before both went under water.
