Norman man convicted of bank fraud

TULSA, Okla. (AP) – A Norman man accused of trying to defraud IBC Bank of approximately $1.2 million has been convicted of conspiracy and 11 counts of bank fraud.

The Department of Justice says 69-year-old Bruce Carlton Wright was convicted Thursday.

According to court documents, Wright conspired to submit fraudulent invoices to the bank for work that was not performed on property in Bentonville, Arkansas, from June 2007 to July 2008.

A co-defendant pleaded guilty to related charges in May.

A Justice Department press release says Wright’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 16. He faces a potential maximum statutory sentence of 30 years in prison and a fine of $1 million.

The two men will also face a criminal forfeiture money judgment of over $1 million representing proceeds of the bank fraud scheme.
