Work to begin on Meadow Lane today

Ponca City Now - May 18, 2015 7:34 am

Beginning today, work will begin to reconstruct Meadow Lane from the north side of Fairway Place to the south side of Queens Avenue.

The City of Ponca City has entered into a contract with River Ridge Construction of Newkirk to perform this pavement reconstruction work. Representatives of River Ridge Construction have distributed informational letters to all of the residences directly affected by this construction.

This project will be performed in two phases. Phase 1 is from just north of Fairway Place to the center of Leslie Lane, and Phase 2 is from the center of Leslie Lane to the south side of Queens Avenue. Access will be maintained to Leslie Lane residents throughout the duration of the project by splitting the phases at the center of Leslie Lane.

During Phase 1, access to Leslie Lane will only be from the north off of Queens Avenue. During Phase 2 the access to Leslie Lane will only be from the south. After Phase 1 is complete, traffic will be switched over to the Phase 1 pavement, and the Phase 2 reconstruction will begin.

It is anticipated that the total reconstruction time will be 60 days with each phase taking approximately 30 days each. This construction time frame is contingent upon no significant weather delays.

Through the duration of the project, Meadow Lane will be closed to traffic. Vehicles will not be permitted into the work area for the phase currently under construction. Residents will need to find alternate parking and alternate driving routes during the project. Signing and barricades will be in place to detour and direct traffic around the construction site.

Any questions regarding this project may be directed to River Ridge Construction, at 580-362-1300, or to the City Engineering Department at 767-0326.
