Volunteers needed to prepare for Memorial Day

Memorial Day is Monday May 25 .

The annual Memorial Day ceremony will be at Resthaven-Sunset Memorial Parks to commemorate all veterans, starting at 10 a.m.

This ceremony brings together veterans, family, and friends from all branches of the military and features a color guard , honor guard, gun salute and patriotic music.

Resthaven Memorial Park is located at 1901 E. Hubbard Road, just east of the stoplight at Highway 177 and Hubbard Road in Ponca City.

This year Trout Funeral Home will place nearly 2,000 flags throughout the park in acknowledgement of veterans on Memorial Day.

Volunteers are needed to help place flags this Memorial Day. Donuts, snacks, coffee and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers. Call (580) 762-5659 for more information.
