Gasoline prices rising again

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Gasoline prices are rising again in Oklahoma.

AAA Oklahoma said Tuesday that the price of regular self-serve gasoline averages $2.41 per gallon, 19 cents more than the average price just 28 days ago.

AAA spokesman Chuck Mai says crude oil prices have been trending higher since mid-March. Slowing U.S. oil production, a weakening U.S. dollar and the expected increase in demand in China are also affecting local gas prices.

But Mai says plentiful supplies of oil and high OPEC output should help limit how high crude oil prices will go.

The national average price for gasoline is about $2.66 per gallon, two-tenths of a cent below the highest average of the year. Oklahoma has the seventh-lowest average gas price in the nation.
