Ponca City High School announces graduation information

The Ponca City Senior High School Class of 2015 will graduate at 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Sullins Stadium. In the case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in Robson Fieldhouse.

Important new seating information
Starting this year, the district will allow seats in Sullins Stadium to be saved for the graduation ceremony starting at noon on the day of graduation. School personnel will be present to open stadium gates at the announced time.

Blankets, tarps, tape (NO TAPE AT ALL because it leaves a residue that is difficult to remove), or any other method used to save seats prior to the designated time will be removed. Saving seats several days in advance creates maintenance issues that have become problematic.

Live Streaming Graduation
The Ponca City Public School district will be live-streaming graduation again this year! What does that mean? It means that people will be able to watch the event live on their computer, iPad, or iPhone. To watch live, go to www.livestream.com, click “watch” and search for Po-Hi graduation. When you see the picture of the high school, click on it and it will take you immediately to the live event. People can go to the link now and put it on their calendar.

Ponca City Schools’ Public Information Coordinator Mary Ladd said, “Last year we had over 1,100 people watching from several states and two countries! If the weather is bad and graduation has to be held in Robson Fieldhouse, this greatly limits the number of people who can get in because of seating capacity. With the live-streaming, people will still get to watch as if they were there. High School Principal Thad Dilbeck is going to open the High School Commons area to show the graduation ceremony live on the big screens for family members and friends who were not able to get in Robson.”
