Chesapeake posts $3.7 billion loss in first quarter

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Chesapeake Energy reports that it lost more than $3.7 billion in the first quarter.

The Oklahoma City company’s loss amounts to near $6 a share.

Chesapeake shares have dropped 19 percent since the beginning of the year and 44 percent in the past 12 months.
