NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Norman and state officials are working to relocate a hospital in order to free up about 240 acres of prime real estate near downtown.

Community leaders are weighing the plans to move Griffin Memorial Hospital that were proposed last week by a group of urban planning experts.

A commissioner for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services says a new facility could provide better services for patients.
