Elizabeth “Betty” Lou (Traynor) Williams passed away on July 28, 2024, at Via Christi Village in Ponca City, OK. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Betty was born on March 21, 1927, to William E. and Pearl C. (Askins) Traynor in Newkirk, OK. She was the 12th of 13 children. Betty was raised in Newkirk, and graduated from Newkirk High School in 1945. Betty spent the majority of her time working for the government at the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in the state of Washington as a clerk/typist. She enjoyed her work, and was proud to be a part of such a wonderful team. On June 6, 1951, she married M.C. Williams in Eureka Springs, AR. M.C. was a carpenter, and they worked and built their life for over 34 years. They also lived in Oklahoma City, and Sedro Woolley, WA.She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and knitting,
Betty’s biggest blessing was her family. Although they never had children of their own, her nieces and nephews kept her on her toes. With such a large family, she was never without a visitor and a good story. Aunt Betty will be treasured and missed deeply.
Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, and their children. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sisters, Marie Traynor, Evelyn Neumann, and Patricia Woodring; brothers, Bernard Traynor, H.F. Traynor, Paul Traynor, Leonard Traynor, Russell Traynor, Raymond Traynor, Mike Traynor, Dick Traynor, and Jack Traynor.
