21-Year-Old Oklahoma County Detention Center Inmate Found Dead

Early Monday morning, the Oklahoma County Detention Center reported the death of one of the residents, Timothy Lee Hardin.

Hardin, age 21, was found unresponsive on the floor at approximately 6:30 a.m. by detention officers performing a site check.

Medical personnel were called immediately and began life-saving efforts. EMS and Oklahoma City Fire Department also arrived but those efforts were unsuccessful.

Hardin did not have a cellmate and was last seen receiving breakfast at around 4:48 a.m. this morning.

At this time, the OCDC has no obvious signs leading to a potential cause of death.

On May 15, 2024, Hardin was booked into OCDC on one felony count of violating a protective order.

Per standard protocol, all deaths are investigated as homicides until a final determination is made by the medical examiner.
