Inmate in popular Netflix jail docuseries ‘Unlocked: A Jail Experiment’ dies at 29

John McAllister, an inmate at an Arkansas detention facility featured in a popular Netflix docuseries, died at the age of 29.

McAllister, an inmate at the Williams Correctional Facility in Pine Bluff who was featured on Unlocked: A Jail Experiment, which was filmed inside the Pulaski County Jail.

McAllister, known as “Eastside,” was serving a three-year sentence after being convicted of ten felony counts related to drugs, breaking, theft of property, and firearms possession.

He was taken by ambulance from where he was housed to a medical facility after he was found unresponsive in his bunk.

McAllister was pronounced dead at 8:50 a.m. Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. No foul play or suicide is suspected, according to authorities.
