William Ray Thomas

August 6, 1958 — May 7, 2024

William Ray Thomas, known to many as Woody Thomas, passed away on May 7th, 2024, at the age of 65. William was born in Riverside, California to parent Paul Thomas and Ruth (Silky) Thomas on August 6th, 1958.

William and his family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when he was 6 years old in 1964. William met his beautiful bride Sonja Kaye (Mize) Thomas while living in the Sand Springs area, and they were wed on February 5th, 1982. In 2007, he moved with his family to Ponca City, Oklahoma where he lived out the rest of his life. He was a passionate and driven worker. He was a welder and pipe fitter. A physically demanding profession, but his work gave him purpose. As did his family and furbabies.

William is survived by his loving wife, Sonja (Mize) Thomas of the home, his daughter, Amanda Whitehead and her husband Gary, his two grandsons, Cody and Cooper Whitehead, and his pets all of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and his sister Mae Terry, of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

William was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth (Silky) Thomas.

William’s wishes were to be cremated, and his wishes are being handled by Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
