New EMS Assistant Principal Named

Mark Kimbrell has been named the new assistant principal for the 2024-2025 school year at East Middle School, pending approval from the board of education. Mark has been serving as the interim assistant principal at EMS during the spring semester.

Mark received his bachelor’s degree in Health and Sports Science Education from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He received his master’s degree in Educational Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2015.

He was the health and physical education teacher at West Middle School from 2008-2013 and then a math teacher at Wildcat Academy from 2013 to present. While at Wildcat Academy he also served in an administrative leadership role.

Mark also has vast coaching experience with PCPS including assistant high school wrestling coach, junior high girls golf coach and was the assistant high school softball coach from 2015 to 2022.

He was a PCPS Teacher of the Year nominee in 2022-2023 and in 2016-2017 and named PCPS District Employee of the Month in March 2014.

“I am truly grateful for this opportunity to be a part of the East Middle School staff,” said Kimbrell. “I deeply appreciate how warm and welcoming the EMS staff has been to me over the past four months. Additionally, I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone in this district that has helped me gain the knowledge and experience I needed to obtain this position.”
