Lois Jean Diemer

March 27, 1944 – May 8, 2024

Lois Jean Diemer went to be with her Lord on May 8, 2024.

Lois Jean (Miller) Diemer was born on March 27, 1944 in Clovis, New Mexico to Maxine (Graham) and Adelbert Miller. Her family lived in several different places before moving to Fairfax, OK where Lois began her school years. In 1958 they moved to Blackwell. She graduated from Blackwell High School in 1963, then attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa from 1963-1964.

It was in Blackwell where Lois met and married Albert Michael Tilley in February 1965. During their marriage they had a son, David, in 1966. The marriage ended in 1969.

In 1972, Lois met and married Jerry Diemer, son of Bob and Hazel Diemer of Tonkawa. They moved to Woodward in 1972 and David was adopted by Jerry in 1973. Jerry worked for Halliburton until 1981. When he relocated and moved his family to Moore, OK.

Lois received her real estate license in 1983 and worked for Red Carpet Young Real Estate from June 1983-January 1986. She then worked for Fleet Mortgage Corp from February 1987 until October 1996. She then worked for United Health Care from 1998 until retirement in 2009.

When Lois retired in July 2009, she moved to Blackwell, Okla. where she shared a home with her two sisters, Linda and Leneta. They had planned to care for their parents until their death.

Lois was active in the First United Methodist Church of Blackwell since 2009 and became a member in Aug.2015. She assisted with getting salads and cakes for funeral dinners and served on several committees. She also helped with all the garage sales and salad luncheons. When the church split in 2023 she became a member of the Blackwell Methodist on June 15th.

Lois volunteered at the Blackwell Regional Hospital from 2014 until 2020 when the volunteer program ended. Lois also worked with the Election Board from 2011 until 2022, when her illness made it impossible to continue. She went on Hospice care on April 27, 2023.

Lois enjoyed reading, fishing and working with silk flower arrangements. She also loved her Lord and enjoyed reading her Bible.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sisters; Linda Miller and Leneta Barber, both of Blackwell; her son, David, and wife Ginger of Morrison, CO; grandchildren, Jordan Diemer, Joseph Diemer and wife Madi, granddaughter, Sara Diemer and great granddaughter Isabella Alirez.
