Kaiya Honni Primeaux
October 29, 1972 – April 8, 2024
Kaiya Honni Primeaux, 51, of Oklahoma City, OK, died on April 8, 2024. Following the noon feast, a funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center. Burial will immediately follow at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.
Kaiya was born to Imogene Primeaux Callshim on October 29,1972, in Oklahoma City, OK, and raised by her parents, Lancelot Primeaux, Jr. and Clara RedLeaf Primeaux.She was a life-long Christian and grew up loving the Lord. She was raised in south Oklahoma City, and attended Capitol Hill High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Daryl Shaw. They would have a daughter, Sache Dominique Primeaux-Shaw, born on November 27, 1987.
Kaiya was a proud Southsider, who attended Oklahoma City Public Schools her entire life. Kaiya was a talented artist who could paint, sketch, and bead. She was also a great cook who loved to bake. She loved helping others and never met a stranger. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She loved sports, especially the OKC Thunder and was a talented basketball player, and swimmer. She was also quite the comedian who loved playing the dozens.
Kaiya was preceded in death by: her mother, Imogene Primeaux; father, Lancelot Primeaux, Jr.; sisters, Matti Plett, Portia Lawson, Alana Primeaux; brothers, George Calls Him, III, Elden CallsHim, Edward Calls Him, Sr., Elwood Sonny Calls Him, Sr., Mark V. Calls Him, Sr. and, Reginald Primeaux.
Kaiya is survived by: her only child, Sache Primeaux-Shaw of Oklahoma City, OK; her sisters, Christine CallsHim and Georgina CallsHim, both of Ponca City, OK, Cori Primeaux of Oklahoma City, OK, Delores CallsHim of Sioux City, IA, Jolene CallsHim and Augie Pascal, both of Lacey, WA, Valjean Primeaux of Seminole, OK, Naomi Franklin of Oklahoma City, OK; brother Melvin CallsHim; and many nieces and nephews.
