OKLAHOMA CITY –  Rep. Ken Luttrell, R-Ponca City, congratulated Ponca City student Autumn Leist for being honored before the Oklahoma House of Representatives for her academic achievements. Leist was recognized for being named to the All-Oklahoma Academic Team.

“Autumn’s selection to the All-Oklahoma Academic Team not only demonstrates her commitment to excellence but also demonstrates the critical role educational institutions play in fostering success,” Luttrell said. “Congratulations to Autumn for this well-deserved honor.”

The All-Oklahoma Academic Team Program provides statewide recognition to outstanding two-year college students. To be eligible, students must be nominated by their college president to the All-USA Academic Team. Nominees must be eligible to graduate during the academic year and hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework completed in the past five years.

Lynn Tincher-Ladner, Ph.D., serves as the President and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

“The 2024 All-Oklahoma Academic Team members are being recognized for their distinguished academic achievements and leadership accomplishments,” Tincher-Ladner said. “This award is special in many ways. Team members represent the very best in leadership, scholarship, and service. More than that, they are selected by their institutions to receive this honor and are known by their college administrators and faculty to be the very best examples of student success. They serve as important role models in our colleges and our communities and are worthy of our respect and emulation.”

Oklahoma is one of 39 states participating in the All-USA Academic Team Program. The State Academic Teams were introduced in 1994 to provide scholastic recognition to community college students while promoting excellence at two-year colleges.
