The Community Health Foundation delivered a grant to City Arts to provide both breakfast and snacks to their Summer Camp students this July.
Studies have shown that engaging in art reduces stress, boosts self-esteem, can help process and heal trauma, and provides a creative outlet to release emotion. Art can be an amazing method of self-care to improve mental health and City Arts has worked to make art accessible to everyone in our community.
Every summer, City Arts provides a 5 day art camp for children ages 6 to 12. Last year 96 students attended the camp including 40 who were from low-income families and were awarded scholarships to attend. The Community Health Foundation is proud to support City Arts and their summer camp for students this summer.
