NOC Enid Planetarium Hosting Solar Eclipse Program April 8

The NOC Enid Mackie Planetarium is offering a program for the Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8.

The planetarium will open at 11 a.m. with streaming of events from around the Nation (NASA coverage begins at noon although NOC will also be joining streams from Slooh, Wallops Flight Center and other organizations).

NOC Pre-Engineering, Rocket Team and Astronomy Students will be present during the event.

Telescopes with solar filters and eclipse viewing materials will be provided.

Enid will have a 91.2% of eclipse totality, partial eclipse begins at 12:28 p.m., the maximum eclipse at 1:46 p.m., and the partial eclipse ends at 3:04 p.m.

Public shows are held on the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. throughout the year.

There is no charge for the show.  Donations of non-perishable food items for Our Daily Bread are welcome but not required.
