Anne Jeannette Prather of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away, March 1, 2024, at her home at the age of 71 years.
Anne Jeannette Prather was born on December 15, 1952, in McAlester, Oklahoma, to James David and Thelma Joanne (Ward) Prather. She grew up in Oklahoma City before returning to southeast Oklahoma where she graduated from Coalgate High School. Following her education she married Jimmy Conger and they operated an automobile dealership in Shawnee. She later moved to Jolie, Iowa, where she remarried and the couple owned and operated a large pig farm. She returned to Oklahoma and settled in Wardville where she lived with her father. She worked for the Stipe Law Firm in McAlester before operating her stain-glass and jewelry making business. She enjoyed riding horses, fishing and creating western theme jewelry.
She is survived by her brother, Tom Prather and wife Sheila of Blackwell; her step-mom, Maralyn “Mo” Prather of Wardville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and two brothers, Jim and Bob Prather.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Josie Busby of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8th in the Wardville Cemetery in Wardville, Oklahoma.
Casketbearers will be Russell Wright, Jagger Michalak-Shaut, Lucky Gose, Bryce Barnes, Tyler Prather and Gordon Lewis. Honorary casketbearers will be Michael Ranallo and Kenny Hayes.
A memorial has been established in her honor with the Wardville Cemetery Association in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon Ave., Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
