Billy (Bill) Summitt, Sr.

September 4, 1938 — February 10, 2024

Billy Summitt, Sr., 85, beloved Father, Grandfather, Great grandfather, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on February 10, 2024. He entered this world on September 4, 1938, in Bulfton, Arkansas, born to James H. and Zelma Mabry Summitt.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 16, 2024, in the Rise Up Church with Pastor Clayton Pappan officiating, Interment will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 20254 in the Winfield Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. Visitation will be held at Grace Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 15, from 2p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bill served a tour of duty in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1959 and came to Oklahoma. Bill owned and operated Summitt Roofing for several years in the Ponca City, OK area. He married the love of his life Judith Thomson and they made their home in Ponca City, OK and she preceded him in death. Bill enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and attending any of their activities, he also enjoyed cooking, fishing, squirrel hunting, going to the Horse races and working on cars and small engines.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Greg Summitt and wife Shelley, Clint Summitt, and wife Loretta all of Newkirk, OK. Grandchildren, GJ Summitt, Kyle Summitt Sr. Airman USAF, Dylan Summitt E-4 Corporal USMC, Cory Summitt, Terrence Summitt, Trevor Summitt, Dalton Summitt, Nora Summitt, Ariel Summitt, Jordon Summitt, Courtney Skaggs-Rogers, Alexia Skaggs, Kayleigh Summitt, and Riccy Summitt. Also surviving are one sister, Louise Tullos and one brother Benny Summitt and wife Pat all of Hamburg, AR and numerous great grandchildren, and Nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents two wives, Loretta Sue, and Judith, one son, Billy D. Summitt Jr in 2017 and one brother, A.D. Summitt.
