BNSF CLOSING GRAND AVENUE RAILROAD CROSSING

Ponca City Now - February 9, 2024 8:29 am

BNSF railroad crews will begin work on railroad crossings throughout Ponca City beginning Friday, February 9, 2024. Ties will be replaced along the entire railroad corridor through Ponca City and multiple crossings will be closed simultaneously during this work.
The work will be conducted from south to north beginning at Grand Avenue plus additional crossings to the north of Grand Avenue.
BNSF officials advised City officials that individual crossings would be closed for approximately one week as crews remove and replace the ties and re-set the concrete panels above the ties.
Actual closure times will vary depending on site-specific conditions.
The entire project through Ponca City is expected to take about one month to complete.
Detour routes will be established to direct traffic to the nearest available crossing as work progresses through the city.
