Oklahoma State Commit Receives Defensive Player of the Year Honors
Oklahoma State Cowboys home - January 17, 2024 4:24 am
He committed to Oklahoma State on National Signing Day on December 20th after decommitting from TCU. Fields held several power five offers. Some schools that offered him include Washington, Kansas State, and TCU.
Not only was he a standout on the defensive side of the ball, but he was a big weapon for the Eagles offensively. As a receiver, he caught 72 passes for 1,450 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Fields was a leader on a Del City defense that held their opponents scoreless on five separate occasions over the 2023 season. Del City would go on to go 13-1, with their lone loss coming at the hands of Carl Albert High School in the 5A State Championship. The Eagles outscored their opponents 46-9 on average this year.
All in all, Fields is a very solid addition to the team. The coaching staff did a great job closing in this recruitment in the eleventh hour. Hopefully we will see more of that as time goes on, but at the very least, recruiting in Stillwater is beginning to take a step in the right direction.
