Dr. Rachel Shuey-Bunney Appointed to Pioneer Tech Board of Education

Pioneer Technology Center has announced the appointment of Rachel Shuey-Bunney as the newest member of its Board of Education. Shuey-Bunney's appointment comes after the recent retirement of Orva Rothgeb, and she was officially sworn in during the tech center's monthly Board of Education meeting in November.

Ponca City, OK ——- Pioneer Technology Center (PTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Shuey-Bunney as the newest member of its Board of Education. Shuey-Bunney’s appointment comes after the recent retirement of Orva Rothgeb, and she was officially sworn in during the tech center’s monthly Board of Education meeting in November.

A resident of Tonkawa since May 2021, Shuey-Bunney took over an already established veterinary clinic in the community. A graduate of West Moore High School, she pursued higher education at the University of Missouri, earning three degrees: a Bachelor’s in Animal Sciences, a Master’s Degree in Public Health, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Traci Thorpe, Superintendent/CEO expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment, stating, “Dr. Shuey will be a valuable addition to our PTC Board.  We look forward to incorporating her expertise and knowledge into board leadership and appreciate her willingness to serve her community and the Pioneer Tech district.”

Apart from her professional accomplishments, Shuey-Bunney is an active member of the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce and a graduate of Leadership Tonkawa 2022. Committed to community service, she is involved with the Free Will Baptist church in Ponca City, where she helps as a Team Kid volunteer and contributes to the Audio and Visual team.

Recently married to Conner Bunney in October, the couple takes care of their beloved dog Tucker.

Pioneer Technology Center looks forward to benefiting from Rachel Shuey-Bunney’s expertise and commitment as she assumes her role on the Board of Education, contributing to the continued success of enhancing lives and securing futures.
