Yukon resident claims $1 million top prize from Platinum jackpot ticket.

Yukon has a new millionaire in town after hitting the Platinum Jackpot ticket, and she plans on moving soon.

According to the Oklahoma Lottery Commission (OLC), Tamara claimed her $1,000,000 winning Scratcher Wednesday at the lottery winner center.

She purchased the winning ticket at 7-Eleven at 12201 W. Reno Ave in Oklahoma City.

The lottery commission said that when Tamara scratched her ticket, she was shocked to see she had won the top prize. She told them she immediately took the ticket to her mother and asked her to double-check the win to make sure. But even after hearing it confirmed, she said it did not sink in until she came to claim it.

Tamara cashed in her winning ticket while on her lunch break and was headed back to work when she was done.

Tamara plans on taking her mother on a cruise and then buying a new home in Florida for both of them to live in.

OLC said this winning ticket is the first prize claimed for the Platinum Jackpot, leaving two remaining top prizes in the game.
