Railroad Crossing Closure – Hartford Avenue to Albany Ave.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad crews will be performing maintenance work at the Hartford Avenue railroad crossing on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
The crossing will be closed to all traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on that day.
The City was contacted on December 4, 2023 that the maintenance work planned for Hartford Avenue was being expanded to include all crossings from Hartford Avenue to Albany Avenue. As a result, the railroad crossings on Albany Avenue, Brookfield Avenue, Detroit Avenue, Emporia Avenue and Hartford Avenue will be closed to all traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
Traffic will be detoured down Union Avenue and Fifth Street to the Broadway Avenue railroad crossing for the duration of the work.
Businesses along Hartford Avenue from Union Street to the railroad tracks will only be accessible from Union Street. Businesses along Hartford Avenue from Fifth Street to the railroad tracks will only be accessible from Fifth Street.
