Larry Gene Fry, Jr. was a remarkable individual who lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. Born on December 6, 1978, in Escondido, California, to Larry Sr. and Silvia fry. Larry embarked on a journey that would touch the lives of many. On November 11, 2023, he left this world too soon in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Larry discovered his true passion as a Journeyman Electrician and became an active member of the IBEW Brotherhood in 2002. His commitment to his craft was unwavering, and it brought him immense pride to provide his expertise to those he worked with. In 2017, Larry began a new chapter in his career at Phillips 66, where he thrived alongside his colleagues.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Larry had numerous interests that made him the remarkable person he was. He never met a stranger and had an uncanny ability to connect with people effortlessly. Larry’s love for cooking led him to become an exceptional host who enjoyed smoking food and feeding family and friends whenever they gathered together.
Larry also spent countless Saturdays cheering on OU Football. Additionally, music held a special place in Larry’s heart as it often provided solace during trying times and joy during moments of celebration.
In quieter moments, Larry found enjoyment in playing Golf Clash on his phone—a source of relaxation that allowed him to unwind from life’s demands.
Above all else, he was a devoted family man who prioritized spending time with his loved ones. His wife Tara held a special place in his heart, and their bond was unbreakable. Larry’s children, Cutter and Taylin Fry, brought immense joy to his life, and he cherished every moment they spent together as a family.
Larry’s parents, Larry Sr. and Silvia Fry, were a constant source of love and support throughout his life. Their guidance and unwavering presence shaped him into the remarkable person he became. He shared a close bond with his sisters Cherie Fry and Sonia Thornbrugh, along with her husband Clint Thornbrugh. Their shared laughter and shared experiences created cherished memories that will forever be held dear.
he also leaves behind his sister-in-law Tracy Jordan and her husband Travis Jordan, who were always there to provide comfort and support during difficult times. Uncle Leonard Fry played an instrumental role in Larry’s life. In addition to his immediate family, Larry leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and cousins who adored him deeply. His infectious charm and warm personality brightened their lives in immeasurable ways.
Larry Gene Fry, Jr.’s journey on this Earth may have come to an end far too soon, but the impact he made on the lives of those around him will live on forever. His memory will serve as an inspiration to embrace each day with love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to one’s passions.
Visitation services for Larry will be held at Grace Memorial Chapel located at 2016 N 14th St in Ponca City on November 16, 2023. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will also take place at Grace Memorial Chapel on November 17, 2023, starting at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dennis Wildman officiating. It will be a time of remembrance, as Larry’s life is celebrated among those who held him dear.
