‘Top priority to address this potential threat’: Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority issues product recall

KOKH - November 6, 2023 3:12 am

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority issued a recall notice on Friday.

This affects commercial licensees and licensed patients.

“This proactive action is an example of our commitment to protecting public health,” said Executive Director Adria Berry. “It was top priority to address this potential threat to the well-being of our licensed patients.”

According to the product recall list on OMMA’s website, the recalled products include a variety of vape cartridge products packaged between May and October of this year. OMMA’s website states the listed products were not properly tested by the processor, which is a violation.

OMMA says growers and processors that received the Recall Notice are required to inform dispensaries that bought the recalled products.

Dispensaries are also required to notify patients who purchased the recalled products.

“We will continue to confront situations like this head on in an effort safeguard the integrity of our medical market,” Director Berry said.

Recalled products must be disposed of following OMMA rules.

OMMA says the commercial licensee whose harvest or production batch is being recalled is responsible for the cost of the disposal.

Licensees can reach out to OMMA with any questions about the recall by calling (405) 522-6662.

OMMA issued a recall notice on November 3, 2023. The OMMA website states the listed products were not properly tested by the processor in violation of OAC 442:10-8.Click here to view the PDF file.
