Oklahoma Woman’s Body Discovered on Mississippi River Barge in Memphis, Investigation Underway

The body of an Oklahoma woman was found floating atop a barge on the Mississippi River.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), the woman was identified as 22-year-old Hailey Silas on Monday.
On Saturday morning, deputies were called to the Mississippi River two miles south of the Shelby Forest Boat ramp around 7:30.
SCSO deputies were advised that a barge traveling the Mississippi River had located a female body on top of the barge.
This is an ongoing investigation.
