TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — The University of Oklahoma has created the OU3 Memorial Meteorology Scholarship Fund in honor of three students kill last year.
Just before 11:30 p.m. on April 27, 2022, 20-year-old Nicholas Nair, 19-year-old Gavin Short, and 22-year-old Drake Brooks were traveling back from storm chasing in Kansas when their SUV hydroplaned on Interstate 35.
A semi then crashed into their vehicle.
All three students were pronounced dead at the scene.
