Phillips 66 Community Challenge Blood Drive This Friday in Ponca City

Ponca City Now-Beverly Cantrell - July 19, 2023 7:35 am

Our Blood Institute, formerly Oklahoma Blood Institute, is seeking donors of all blood types. One blood donation can save as many as three lives and the supply must constantly be renewed. It takes nearly 1,200 donors a day to keep up with the demand for blood in Oklahoma.

OBI is especially in need of O negative type blood donors. O negative is the type of blood that can be used with patients of any blood type in an emergency.

On Friday, July 21, you can donate blood and help save lives at the Phillips 66 Community Challenge Blood Drive at Pioneer Technology Center, 2101 N. Ash in the Seminar Room from noon to 6:00 pm.

You can also help a deserving local civic group. Just mention your favorite group when you sign-in to donate blood and they have a chance to win $500.00 from P66. The one with the most sign ins will win.

OBI will have food and great giveaways for each blood donor including the new OBI vintage style t-shirt.

Visit OBI dot org or call 1-800-340-8777 to set up an appointment though drop-ins are always welcome.

Donate blood and save lives.
