Suspect Arrested in Recent Shooting; Charged with Second Degree Murder

On July 13th, 2023, at 01:48 am, the Ponca City Police Department received a report of a gunshot victim near the Paladin Apartments. Police located 38-year-old Andrew Lee Barton outside the 700 building with a single gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Alliance Medical, where he was pronounced dead.

After gathering evidence at the scene and interviewing witnesses, Detectives produced multiple leads.

On July 13^th, 2023, at 10:04 am, Ponca City Police arrested 18-year-old Kennis Rhodd for murder in the second degree and obstruction of justice.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected.
