This Friday, June 30, Our Blood Institute, formally Oklahoma Blood Institute, will be holding the 17th Annual Fish Fry blood drive at Hospice of North Central Oklahoma in the Carolyn Renfrow Event Center at 445 Fairview.
This year OBI is honoring Sean A. Anderson who passed away last December 24. Sean was a blood donor and a big supporter of OBI and saw the importance of helping others through blood donation.
Sean Anderson worked at Team Radio for many years and was always a positive light at Team Radio and in our community. He was a friend to many and a great dad.
OBI hopes to get enough blood donations to trigger a $3,000.00 donation to be given to The Opportunity Center of Ponca City that was chosen by Sean Anderson’s daughters, Amber and Courtney, to receive the money.
If blood donations at the Sean A. Anderson Memorial Fish Fry Blood Drive reach 183, a $10.00 donation will be given to the Opportunity Center for each donor. If donations reach 191, a $15.00 donation will be given for each donor.
Please consider giving blood at this event and help honor Sean Anderson and support the Opportunity Center while helping save lives.
OBI will have great swag to give away and there are lots of door prizes, provided by the numerous sponsors who support this event, to be given to donors.
Mark Sanders, his wife Teresa, Rebecca Stinson, her parents James and Tonia and the fish fry crew will provide a delicious fish meal for donors.
Blood donations can be given from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Each blood donation can save up to three lives.
1 in 3 people will need a blood product in their lifetime and it takes nearly 1,200 donors a day to keep up with the demand for blood in Oklahoma.
Thanks to Enid OBI Director Jessy Dersham and OBI Blood Coordinator Jillian Tebow for helping to organize the fish fry blood drive in Ponca City.
You don’t have to have an appointment but it does help you get in and out faster if you have one.
