OBN issues “Imminent Danger” order against doctor

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics has issued an Imminent Danger Order against Oklahoma City Dr. Harvey Jenkins that immediately suspends his authority to possess, administer, dispense, prescribe and/or distribute any controlled dangerous substance in Oklahoma.

The bureau says in a news release that Wednesday’s order is the result of an investigation showing Jenkins failed to comply with OBN rules and regulations.

State investigators recently searched an Oklahoma City medical clinic operated by Jenkins and said he is under investigation for allegedly distributing prescription pills illegally.

Jenkins has called the allegation "ridiculous."

A hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18 to allow Jenkins to appeal the Imminent Danger Order.
