First Responders Conducting Joint Training at Lake Ponca Wednesday

Ponca City Now - May 23, 2023 6:45 am

Kay County Sheriff Steve Kelley wants citizens to be aware that on Wednesday, May 24, beginning early that morning, the Kay County Sheriff’s Department will kick off a Joint Training exercise with many first responder agencies from Kay County.
Kelley said throughout the day you could see many different types of emergency vehicles in the area of Ponca Lake, Frisbee Golf course and the Archery Range including patrol cars, firetrucks, ambulances, watercraft, ATV’s and aircraft of various forms and hear police radios, simulated gunfire, or maybe even some diversion devises they use.
It is all part of planned training.
Traveling in the area of La Cann-Prentice Rd. and the Hartford-Longwood area could prove difficult with so many things happening in that area.
There will be barricades set up and citizens are asked to not move or go around them.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call  the Kay County Sheriff’s Department at 580-362-3250.
