A man recently set a new state record after catching a massive bighead carp from Grand Lake.

The catch checked in at 118 pounds and three ounces.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation has asked anglers to help capture invasive bighead carp from Grand Lake.

According to state wildlife officials, bighead carp consume large quantities of zooplankton, aquatic insect larvae and adults.

Bighead carp are also a direct competitor with native species like paddlefish and bigmouth buffalo.

If you catch a bighead carp, you’re asked not to return it to the water. Instead, call wildlife officials at 918-683-1031 or 918-200-4815.
