• have made contributions to educational administration
“Leadership is about building community, cultivating and empowering other leaders and focusing on student success,” said Dr. Pam Deering, CCOSA/OASA Executive Director. “These school leaders have led through many challenges. They have worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for students to learn, grow and realize their full potential. Shelley Arrott is among the best of Oklahoma administrators. We are excited and proud to recognize these outstanding leaders who represent the next level in school leadership. They are courageous leaders.”
OASA has 20 Districts that consist of multiple counties. Eligible OASA members are nominated and selected by their peers in their OASA District.
Shelley Arrott is completing her 39th year as an Oklahoma public school educator and began her tenure with Ponca City Public Schools as a teacher at Roosevelt Elementary in August of 1995. She was named Superintendent of PCPS in 2017, and prior to her current role, she has served PCPS as a classroom teacher, teacher instructional coach, site principal, and central office administrator in both curriculum and human resources. Arrott is retiring from public education at the end of this school year but will remain active in the community as the CEO of the Ponca City Area Chamber of Commerce.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by my esteemed colleagues in the state of Oklahoma,” said Arrott. “This award is not a reflection of my individual accomplishments, but a testament to the dedicated educators, staff, and community members that I have had the privilege of working alongside. It has been my greatest honor to have worked with such dedicated and passionate educators, community members, and families to make an impact on the lives of the students of PCPS throughout the years.”
