Ponca City Resident Killed in Auto Accident Thursday

A Ponca City teen was killed in a two-vehicle accident early Thursday morning at the Highland extension and Ranch Drive just after 6:40 am, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Nate Collins,18 of Ponca City, was driving of a Chevrolet Sonic and collided with a Chevy Silverado driven by a 16 year old Ponca City resident.

Collins was extricated by the Ponca City Fire Department using the Hurst Tool and was pronounced dead at Alliance Health Ponca City from injuries sustained in the accident.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the accident.

Collins was a graduate of the Ponca City High School’s Class of 2022 and signed a letter of intent to play football at Kansas Wesleyan University in February of 2022.

Counselors were available at Po-Hi Thursday and will be available next week to provide additional support for students and staff.
