Oklahoma County Detainee Dies After Fall at Hospital

An Oklahoma County Detention Center detainee has died after being in the hospital, according to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

The officer who was guarding Amber Owens said she was injured in a fall at the hospital. Lifesaving efforts by hospital staff were unsuccessful.

Owens was booked into the detention center March 31, 2023, for malicious injury or destruction of property, assault and battery upon a medical care provider.

This death is being investigated, and the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigations has been asked to assist.
