37-year-old OCDC Inmate Found Dead in Cell Friday Morning

The Oklahoma County Detention Center reported another inmate has died in their care.

Around 6 a.m. on Friday, while conducting sight checks, a detention officer found 37-year-old inmate Courtenay Doyle unresponsive in her cell.

Life-saving measures were started on Doyle until EMSA and the Oklahoma City Fire Department arrived to take over. Doyle was then transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:16 a.m.

Doyle was booked into OCDC on March 13, 2023, by Bethany Police on Trafficking Illegal Drugs and Possession of Paraphernalia charges.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office is working on determining her cause of death. As standard protocol, her death is being investigated as a homicide until the final determination is made.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been notified to assist in the case.
