Governor Calls For Special Election to Fill Vacancy in Kay County

Governor Kevin Stitt has called a Special Election to fill a vacancy in the office of Kay County Commissioner District #3, Kay County Election Board Secretary Carol Leaming said today.

The Special Primary Election will be held April 4, 2023. The Special General Election will be held June 13, 2023. The filing period begins Monday, February 6, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. and ends Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.

Those interested in becoming a candidate for the office may obtain an official filing packet at the Kay County Election Board or download a packet from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections.

The Kay County Election Board is located at 219 S. Main St. Newkirk, OK in the Kay County Administration Building. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information contact the County Election Board at 580 362 2130 or [email protected]
