TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Langston University announced Thursday, December 22, that it is blocking access to TikTok on its wired and wireless networks.
The university said the move to block the social media app is in compliance with Gov. Stitt’s Executive Order 2022-33.
This means TikTok will not be accessible on LU wifi. Langston University employees are also restricted from using university-issued devices to access TikTok.
“Any Langston University-affiliated TikTok accounts, including those representing student organizations, must cease posting for the time being while we continue to review their legality. They do not yet need to be deleted,” the university said in a statement.
Langston University also said the Executive Order will affect all public institutions of higher learning in Oklahoma.
