The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation stated Friday that an investigation into the shooting Thursday of the Sentinal, Okla., Police Chief is continuing.

Chief Louis Ross was shot three times in the chest and once in the arm Thursday, but was wearing a bulletproof vest and is expected to recover.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says Ross was wearing a vest loaned to him by a sheriff’s deputy before they entered the house.

Ross and deputies were attempting to arrest a man who allegedly phoned in a bomb threat to the Sentinel Head Start program.

The OSBI says no arrests have been made and the man who made the threat may not have been aware that law enforcement officers were entering his house.

The individual who shot the chief is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation, the OSBI reported .

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol bomb squad cleared numerous buildings Thursday morning, including the home where the shooting took place. No traces of explosives were found.
