OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – A new traveling exhibition will permit visitors to explore why the human body produces some oozy, crusty and stinky gunk.

The exhibit, called "Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body," opens Saturday at Science Museum Oklahoma.

Hosted by the Oklahoma Museum Network and funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, "Grossology" is a 2,500 square-foot exhibit based on the best-selling book of the same name by author Sylvia Branzei.

The exhibition uses sophisticated animatronics and imaginative exhibits to let visitors explore the good, the bad and the downright ugly about runny noses, body odor and much more.

Designed for children ages 6-14, the exhibition has 12 interactive exhibits including a burp machine where visitors can mimic the buildup of acid indigestion, causing the machine to release a giant belch.
