City notified of Cable One rate increases

Ponca City Now - January 13, 2015 7:30 am

City Manager Craig Stephenson said Monday that the City of Ponca City has been notified that Cable One will increase rates effective with the February 2015 billing period.

Stephenson said the company will increase economy cable rates by $6 a month. The standard cable rate will increase by $10 a month and the digital value pack rate will increase by $2 a month.

He said the rationale from Cable One for these increases is that the past three years, local broadcast stations and cable networks have increased their rates by an average of 37 percent. They are anticipating that in 2015 more than 120 local TV stations and cable networks will again increase their rates, some by as much as 65 percent.
