Ponca City resident injured in collision north of city limits

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 4:07 a.m. on Monday in the area of East Hubbard Road and North Peacn Road, north of the city limits of Ponca City, OK in Kay County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2001 Toyota Camry driven by Shane Shelton (SIC), 18, of Ponca City, OK. Shelton was transported by Ponca City EMS to Alliance Health in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where he was admitted in fair condition with internal trunk and leg injures.

The circumstances of the collision and the condition of the driver prior to the collision remain under investigation at this time. The report indicates that seatbelts were equipped in the vehicle, but not in use. The report also notes a dry roadway, clear weather, and further indicates that Shelton was neither pinned nor ejected from the vehicle.

Investigated by Trooper Tyler Langston #609 of the Kay County detachment of Troop K. Assisted by Kay County Sheriff’s Office, Ponca City Police Department, and Ponca City Fire Department.
