Highland Avenue from First Street to Pine Closing Next Week

Ponca City Now - August 26, 2022 6:39 am

Highland Avenue, between First Street and Pine Street, will be closed to traffic two days during the week of August 29 thru Sept 2 for work on the deck replacement of the Union Street bridge.
The exact dates will depend on the weather.
The street closing is planned for either Monday, August 29 and Wednesday, August 31 or Wednesday, August 31 and Friday, September 2.
Due to overhead power lines along the west side of the bridge, the concrete for the new deck will be poured from a pumper truck that will be staged on Highland Avenue below the bridge. The deck will be poured on two separate days.
Highland Avenue will be closed in the morning of each pour and re-opened in the evening after each pour.
