OSDH Confirms First Case And Death Of 2022 Caused By West Nile Virus In Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY –
The Oklahoma State Department of Health is reporting that one person has died as a result of the West Nile Virus.
The victim was from central Oklahoma and was hospitalized before they later died.
According to OSDH, the virus is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.
OSDH officials are reminding the public to take precautions against mosquito bites.
