Two arrested in drug case

Two subjects were jailed early this morning as a result to a call reporting suspicious activity.

Just before midnight the Ponca City Police Department received a call reporting possible drug activity at a motel in the 1400 block of E Bradley.

Police arrested Zackery S Kovarna, 23, of Ponca City. He is being held on complaints of trafficking of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug proceeds, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony after a former conviction, felon in possession of a firearm after a former conviction and possession of drug paraphernalia after a former conviction.

Also arrested was Keirah Whitaker, 22, on complaints of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony after a former conviction, felon in possession of a firearm after a former conviction, possession of an offensive weapon after a former conviction and possession of paraphernalia after a former conviction.

The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are expected, according to police spokeswoman Sherry Bowers.
