NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Norman police say officers shot and killed a man accused of exiting his car with a firearm and pointing it at them after a vehicle chase. Police did not identify the man or the four officers who fired their weapons after the chase late Thursday on the city’s east side.
Police said in a press release officers used a tactical vehicle intervention – a move that’s meant to bump a fleeing car in order to get it to stop – to disable the man’s vehicle.
Two passengers were inside the vehicle but weren’t charged with any crimes. One was treated and released for injuries.
The four officers who fired their weapons were placed on routine administrative assignment pending the outcome of an investigation.
